Mattel had been producing dolls for Disney since 1955, but they lost the franchise to Hasbro in 2013 when they introduced Ever After High, a line of dolls that rivalled the Disney Princess brand.
In 2023 the Disney brand returned to Mattel and a new range along with a Movie was quickly released.
