The HALO story follows an interstellar war between humanity and an alliance of aliens called the Covenant. The player controls the protagonist, Master Chief, a super-soldier who wears advanced armour and is accompanied by an AI companion named Cortana. In the TV Series the story primarily focuses on the Master Chief and his battles with the Covenant, as well as the discovery of ancient alien technology that could alter the course of the war.
