Star Trek was first produced by Paramount Television and premiered on September 6th 1966 on Canada’s CTV network (NBC September 8th) and ran to the 3rd of June 1969.
Star Trek was created in 1966 by Gene Roddenberry and is set in a future where humanity has expanded its reach into the far reaches of space, where they encounter new species, civilizations, and challenges. Star Trek explores themes of science, technology, space exploration, diplomacy, and humanity’s place in the universe and is widely considered to be one of the most influential science fiction shows of all time.
The show ran for three seasons and starred, William Shatner as Captain Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, James Doohan as Scotty, Nichelle Nichols as Uhura and DeForest Kelley as McCoy.
