To celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Yellow Submarine,” Hot Wheels released a very special collection.
The collection included the Hot Wheels Yellow Submarine replica, complete with orange track-compatible wheels, as well as an assortment of cars featuring the art of the 1968 movie Yellow Submarine.
With their vivid colours, creative designs, and John, Paul, Ringo, and George adorning the packaging what isn’t there to like about this collection.
Paul McCartney wrote “Yellow Submarine” for Ringo Starr, who provided the lead vocals. John Lennon and Donovan made contributions to the lyrics. The song was included on the band’s 1966 album, Revolver.
Directed by George Dunning, and written by Lee Minoff, Al Brodax, Jack Mendelsohn and Erich Segal, Yellow Submarine is based upon the song and is a fantastic tale brimming with peace, love, and hope, propelled by Beatles songs, including “Eleanor Rigby,” “When I’m Sixty-Four,” “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” “All You Need Is Love,” and “It’s All Too Much.”
When the film debuted in 1968, it was instantly recognised as a landmark achievement, revolutionising a genre by integrating the freestyle approach of the era with innovative animation techniques.
