Sindy dolls have been made by Pedigree since 1963 and both the head and body types have changed over the years, so how do you know if you have a vintage one in your collection?
The best place to start is to look at the stamp on the back of the neck, these varied depending on the year of manufacture so it is not always obvious to the novice collector what they mean.

The 1963-64 dolls had “Made in England” stamped on them

The 1966 doll had no marks on head or neck but did have “Made in Hong Kong” stamped on her waist.

The 1968-1969: Sindy had real eyelashes, and “Made in Hong Kong” on the back of her head.

The 1974 to 1976 heads had “033050X” in small print on them.

The 1976 heads had “033050X” in small print on them and HONG KONG on her back below the waist.

The 1977 to 1980 heads had “2 GEN 1077” on a raised rectangle with the “033055X” underneath it.

The 1981/82 heads had “033050X” in a slightly larger print on them

From 1982 onwards all heads were marked with the Sindy logo

The 1983 to 1985 heads had a Sindy logo on raised rectangle with “033055X” underneath it.
